Data on total calories burned, pace, distance, power, and performance even down to the lap is available with the push of a few buttons—all guided by the instructor. Depending on intensity (power) which is directly correlated to distance achieved, the average person burns 450 to 750 calories per hour while cycling. WOW.

Some exercise modalities are hard on joints and hinge points, so cycling is an outstanding alternative. With minimal impact on the knees, hips, and ankles, cycling is the perfect activity for those recovering from injuries or just avoiding high-impact aspects of some workout programs.

While cycling, your brain produces feel-good neurotransmitters, called endorphins. Interval training also elevates the release of serotonin (mood-boosting chemicals). This can in turn lower symptoms of moderate depression and anxiety. Over time, cycling can have an effect on your overall mood, making you feel calm and in control of your mind and body.
